6.) Supplemental Recruitment Initiatives:
8/31/10- General Manager, Mike Carey, General Sales Manager, Bob Peters, and Marketing Consultant, Kara Edwards attended a Sales Training Seminar with Chuck Mefford.
10/6/10- News Director, Tina Sawyer met with a CMU Broadcast and Cinematic Arts student to discuss trends and the future of news in broadcasting.
9/15/10- General Sales Manager, Bob Peters, met with several CMU BCA 511 students to discuss marketing and broadcast sales. This joint academic/professional effort assists students interested in a career in Broadcasting Sales. The students receive guidance and assistance in conducting research necessary for a detailed proposal presentation for prospective clients.
Weekly- All Marketing Consultants participate in weekly sales training utilizing the P1 Selling System. This training is held consistently throughout the year. This training strengthens the skills necessary for advancement in broadcast sales management.
3/9/11- Central Michigan Communications co-sponsored a Broadcasting Career Fair in conjunction with the Michigan Association of Broadcasters at the annual Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference & Expo. General Sales Manager, Bob Peters, was the station representative. Prior to the event, public service announcements to encourage participation and to hi-light the benefits of a career in broadcasting were aired on WCZY and WMMI.
3/9/11- Marketing Consultants attended the Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference & Expo hosted by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Workshops provided the opportunity to strengthen sales skills.
