6.) Supplemental Recruitment Initiatives:
- 6-19-2009 Annual EEO assessment meeting. Robert Peters and Laurie Peters, EEO Coordinator. Reviewed the FCC Random audit letter, examined and analyzed pay and benefit structure for non-discrimination, and analyzed EEO recruitment initiatives to be sure that the Employment Unit is compliant in all areas.
- 9-25-2009 General Sales Manager, Robert Peters, met with two Central Michigan University students from Dr. Jerry Henderson’s BCA 511 course. This joint academic/professional effort assists students interested in a career in Broadcasting Sales. The students receive guidance and assistance in conducting research necessary for a detailed proposal presentation for prospective clients.
- 10-16-2009 EEO assessment meeting with Robert Peters and Laurie Peters, EEO Coordinator. Discussed progress on EEO outreach initiatives to be sure that the Employment Unit is on target to meet EEO requirements.
- 1-21-2010 General Sales Manager, Robert Peters, met with two Central Michigan University students from Dr. Jerry Henderson’s BCA 511 course. This joint academic/professional effort assists students interested in a career in Broadcasting Sales. The students receive guidance and assistance in conducting research necessary for a detailed proposal presentation for prospective clients.
- 2/10/2010 General Sales Manager, Robert Peters, and Marketing Consultant’s, Angela Isaac and Kara Edwards, attended a presentation by Tony Rubleski-sponsored by the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce. The information was presented with the intention of strengthening their skills in broadcast sales to assist them in their current positions as well as assisting in advancement in broadcast sales management.
- 2-17-2010 General Sales Manager, Robert Peters, met with three Central Michigan University students from Dr. Jerry Henderson’s BCA 511 course. The students receive guidance and assistance in conducting research necessary for a detailed proposal presentation for prospective clients.
- 3/27/2010 Operations Manager, John Sebastian, and Production Director, Bryan Carr, hosted a booth at the Central Michigan University-School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts annual BCA Career Fair. They met with prospective candidates and discussed careers in broadcasting, summer internship opportunities, and board operator opportunities for the fall sports season.
- 4-27-2010 Production Director, Bryan Carr, met with a Mt. Pleasant Boy Scout Troop. The boys and their parents were given a tour of the broadcast facility and were able to record a commercial. Bryan discussed careers in broadcasting with the boys and their parents.
- 4-28-2010 General Sales Manager, Robert Peters, hosted a booth at the Michigan Works! Opportunity Expo. He met with prospective job seekers in a four county area to discuss job opportunities within the broadcast industry.
- 5-5-2010 All sales and management staff participated in a taped webinar detailing political broadcasting rules. The webinar was presented by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and will strengthen the skills necessary for advancement in broadcast sales management.
- 5-11-2010 EEO Coordinator, Laurie Peters, participated in a webinar detailing EEO rules. The Michigan Association of Broadcasters sponsored the event. The presenter was Brendan Holland of Davis, Wright, Tremaine LLP.
